If reports from Vanguard are anything to go by, the ministers’ list sent to Senate President, Bukola Saraki on Wednesday evening, is an incomplete one.
Sources reportedly revealed that only twenty-one names, instead of thirty-six were on the list as President Muhammadu Buhari hopes to release the names of other nominees by Tuesday next week.
It was further disclosed that plans are in top gear to release the remaining names to the Senate President before the plenary session next week Tuesday.
The submission of ministerial list to the Senate was also a bit different from the norm where the office of the Senate President through the registry receives it from the Special Adviser to the President on National Assembly Matter( Senate).
Meanwhile, Nigerians will also have to wait until Tuesday next week before seeing the much-anticipated list as the Special Adviser to the Senate President, Yusuph Olaniyonu admitted that it would not be made available to the Senators before Tuesday next week.
In addition, Premium Times quotes a principal officer in the Senate to have said that Saraki can only read the names on the next legislative date, which is Tuesday, October 6.
According to him: “This means that all of us will only have the privilege of knowing the ministerial nominees presented by President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday next week.
“If tomorrow, Thursday, were not public holiday, the list would have been announced before the Senate.
“You know the federal government has announced 1st October to be a public holiday in order to mark our independence anniversary.”
Nigerians are still furious over the late release of the president’s kitchen cabinet, as they believe that the Nigerian leader may have played on their intelligence by only submitting the list and not revealing members of the cabinet before the end of September.
