The Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC) invites applications from suitably qualified persons who wish to serve as ad hoc staff during the Local Government General Elections which have been scheduled to take place in Delta State on Saturday, October 25, 2014.

Qualified persons shall be required to fill the position of:

Local Government Returning Officer

Eligibility Candidates for this position must have attained the level of:

Senior staff of tertiary institutions not below the rank of senior lecturer and preferably professor or full-time religious leaders not below the position of parish priest or district overseer.

Ward Returning Officer

Eligibility Candidates for this position must be:

Serving public servants not below Grade Level 12.

Supervisory Presiding Officer

Eligibility Candidates for this position must be a:

Serving public servants not below Grade Level 12.

Presiding Officer

Eligibility Candidates for this position must be:

Public servants on GL 10 and above.

Poll Clerk

Eligibility Candidates for this position must be:

Serving public servants on GL 08 and above.

Poll Orderly

Eligibility Candidates for this position must be:

Serving public servants on GL 06 and above.

Method of Application : Interested and qualified candidates should submit their applications which must be in applicants’ handwriting, should be signed, addressed and submitted to any of the Chief Electoral Officers of the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission at the nearest Local Government Offices of the Commission.

Or

The Secretary to the Commission, Delta State Independent Electoral Commission, Km 8, Asaba/Onitsha Expressway, Asaba.

An application should include two recent passport photographs (with candidate’s name at the back), letter, of recommendation from the applicant’s professional Head of Department reflecting the name of the applicant, rankand department or ministry. The recommendation must be on the official letter-head, signed, stamped and showing the name and rank/position of the Head of Department.

Note:

Public servants in this advertisement means those in the Ministries, Departments and Agencies of the Federal and Delta State Governments, excluding political office holders. Successful candidates will be given specialised training. Please note that submission of an application does not automatically qualify an applicant for employment.

A bridesmaid struggling to get over a break-up while all her best friends were getting married died when a 'cry for help' attempt to take her own life accidentally succeeded, a coroner ruled. Business development manager Danielle Saul, 31, was found hanged in her Manchester apartment following a night out with friends in June last year. Ghanaian actor,  Majid Michel , has always been associated as the ladies man because of the roles he plays in most movies, but the actor who is happily married for the past 11 years to his wife, Virna, is not the bad type of husband. The actor, whom in some quarters has been perceived to be a womanizer, has denied sleeping with any actress in movies or ever engaged in extra marital affairs. Majid, who has accrued lots of respect for himself stressed that he doesn’t engage himself in those stuffs because he respects the vow he made to his wife. “Ladies don’t admire me, they admire the characters I play.
