Bus Conductor Burst Passenger's Scrotum During Fight in Lagos -LOOK


The bus conductor, Taheed Adekunle, who was accused of hitting his passenger’s scrotum during dispute over transportation fare, was on Thursday remanded in prison by a Tinubu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos. Adekunle, 19, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to a charge of assault. The Magistrate, Mr Ade Adefulire, ordered that the accused should be remanded in Kirikiri Prisons till the next date of adjournment for fact and sentencing.  The Prosecutor, ASP Ignatius Okeke, told the court that the accused committed the offence on March 12 at about 5:50pm at Ajah Motor Park in Lagos.  Okeke said that the accused during a dispute with a passenger, Samuel Amosun, over the high price of transportation fare from Ajah to Oshodi, kicked Amosun in the scrotum.  He said that the victim was presently on admission in the hospital with swollen scrotum. Okeke said that the offence contravened Section 171 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. The Magistrate adjourned the case till March 21 for sentencing.

No Cooking With Fire This Sunday in Benin City Due to Funeral Rites ofthe Late Oba

As part of activities for the continuation of the 15 days funeral rites of late Benin Monarch, Oba Erediauwa, residents in Benin kingdom have been told not to cook with fire on Sunday 5th June. It is the day of Igberimwin in the royal funeral rites programme.
