Mass service in honour of David Mark, who has emerged winner of the Benue South senatorial rerun election, was held in the morning of February 21 at his residence.
According to Vanguard, Mark also used the opportunity to urge his main contender, Daniel Onjeh of the All Progressives Congress, to join him in moving Idomaland forward.
“I want to thank all sons and daughters of Idomaland because this victory is for us not David Mark. I also want to urge those whose political interest might have clashed with mine to join hands with me in moving Idomaland forward.”
Recall that Onjeh called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to declare the rerun election in Benue inconclusive insisting that the number of cancelled votes was higher than the margin of win.
However, the declaration was officially made and it seems that the INEC does not intend to reverse it. Mark and his party continue celebrating.
