The ongoing investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) into the arms scandal, has taken a new twist.
Reports say the Managing Director of Stallion Group, Harprrie Singh, has been arrested by the EFCC in connection with the Dasuki scandal.
Premium Times reports that Singh has been accused of paying N1.3b to the former National Security Adviser(NSA), Sambo Dasuki, through the former Minister of State for Finance, Bashir Yuguda.
According to Premium Times, an EFCC source said they stumbled upon the payment, while investigating a transaction between Dasuki and a bureau de change operator, Jabbama Company.
This is coming after the EFCC revealed that it will invite top officials in the Goodluck Jonathan administration that had a hand in the disbursement of funds related to the arms purchase.
Reports say the actual amount paid by the Stallion Group to Dasuki was N1.375b, adding that N100m was later refunded, leaving N1.275b in the former NSA’s care.
