A selfie of a co-pilot who tragically
died on Saturday, August 29, as a result of the Nigerian Air Force
helicopter crash in Kaduna, has been circulating in the internet.
The aircraft crashed about 10 minutes after take-off en route to Abuja yesterday morning. All the seven people on board died, which was confirmed by the NAF authorities. The victims of the accident were the pilot, the co-pilot, two engineers and three passengers.
While officials are yet to provide the names of the deceased, a photo of Keyinde Olaniyan, who was said to have been the co-pilot of the ill-fated helicopter, has gone viral.
According to the reports, he got engaged in May, with his wedding scheduled for December.
It has also been reported that the Air Force secondary school in Ikeja sent condolences to the family of the young man.
The NAF yesterday vowed to unveil the cause of the accident. The chief of air staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, set up a panel to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
