Gov Ambode stops convoy, offers aid to accident victim (Photos)





The Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, on Monday morning ordered his vehicle to stop on Osborne Road, Ikoyi, while on his way to the office.Reason? He had just witnessed an accident on the road and stopped his vehicle in order to assist in the rescue of the victim.

Accoding to reports, the victim, Miss Angela Anukam, was driving alone in a wine-coloured Toyota Corolla at about 8.15am, when she lost control and rammed into the median of the road before the vehicle somersaulted.
The lady was said to be in a state of shock and could barely move. The governor instructed the ambulance attached to his convoy to take her to the Lagos Island General Hospital for treatment.After being treated for minor injuries,she was discharged free of charge on the order of the governor. Ambode-helps-accident-victim-2

No Cooking With Fire This Sunday in Benin City Due to Funeral Rites ofthe Late Oba

As part of activities for the continuation of the 15 days funeral rites of late Benin Monarch, Oba Erediauwa, residents in Benin kingdom have been told not to cook with fire on Sunday 5th June. It is the day of Igberimwin in the royal funeral rites programme. A press statement signed by Secretary to the Benin Traditional Council, Mr. Frank Irabor said the cooking without fire was in accordance with Benin customs and tradition.
