12 Nigerians, Ghanaians Immigrants Thrown Into Sea For Being Christians

According to reports, 12 Nigerians and Ghanaian migrants were thrown into the sea following a fight concerning their Christian religion.

According to an Italian police, he said 15 African Muslim migrants have been arrested over the incident. The police also said 15 people arrested were accused of multiple aggravated murders motivated by religious hate.

The incident took place in the Strait of Sicily, between Tunisia and Italy.

According to a group of Nigerian and Ghanaian survivors, a fight broke out over religion, with a group of Muslim passengers threatening the Nigerians and Ghanaians after the latter who were in the minority declared themselves to be Christians.

“The threats then materialized and 12 people, all Nigerian and Ghanaian, are believed to have drowned in the Mediterranean,”

The 15 migrants arrested over the attack on their arrival in Palermo were from Ivory Coast, Mali and Senegal.

No Cooking With Fire This Sunday in Benin City Due to Funeral Rites ofthe Late Oba

As part of activities for the continuation of the 15 days funeral rites of late Benin Monarch, Oba Erediauwa, residents in Benin kingdom have been told not to cook with fire on Sunday 5th June. It is the day of Igberimwin in the royal funeral rites programme. A press statement signed by Secretary to the Benin Traditional Council, Mr. Frank Irabor said the cooking without fire was in accordance with Benin customs and tradition.
