READ Electoral Offences to Avoid This Coming Elections

This is from the police, be guided guys! Please try as much as possible to stay out of election violence.

The Nigeria Police Force today has said it would arrest and prosecute anyone who violates any of these electoral offences on election days. This was made known in a statement released today by the Force Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu in Abuja. Here are the electoral offences.

Revealing information on a ballot paper of another person and being in possession of another person’s voter card will be regarded as electoral offences.

Canvassing for votes, shouting slogans of a political party, wielding guns, sticks, stones or other dangerous weapons at polling units and loitering or walking about at a polling unit, will not be acceptable.

Use of siren, snatching or destroying ballot boxes or card readers, holding public meetings during election hours on election day, wearing or carrying badge or poster of a political party and inflicting or threatening to inflict injury on any person or persons at a polling unit, will not be accepted.

So now you know what not to do on election days.

No Cooking With Fire This Sunday in Benin City Due to Funeral Rites ofthe Late Oba

As part of activities for the continuation of the 15 days funeral rites of late Benin Monarch, Oba Erediauwa, residents in Benin kingdom have been told not to cook with fire on Sunday 5th June. It is the day of Igberimwin in the royal funeral rites programme. A press statement signed by Secretary to the Benin Traditional Council, Mr. Frank Irabor said the cooking without fire was in accordance with Benin customs and tradition.
