Akinwunmi Ambode voting during Lagos governorship election on SaturdayWith over 90% of votes collated across Lagos state Saharareporters can conclusively state that Akinwunmi Ambode of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won majority of votes cast during Saturday’s gubernatorial election in Lagos state. Lagos governorship election results 90% reporting Mr. Ambode defeated Jimi Agbaje of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to become Governor-elect. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will annunce final official results later today.

The Lagos governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, Akinwunmi Ambode floors his counterpart, Jimi Agbaje of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP at the latter’s polling unit, Vanguard reports. Ambode of APC polled a total of 124 votes while Agbaje of PDP polled 88 votes at his polling unit, 009, ward 3 in Apapa. Also, APC’s candidate for the House of Assembly won in the same unit with 89 votes while PDP had 82 votes.

Ibikunle Amosun has been re-elected to govern Ogun State for a second term. The final results announced by Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC, supervised by. Chief Collation Officer/Returning Officer Duro Oni on Sunday showed the incumbent secured 306,988 votes to defeat Gboyega Isiaka of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who had 201,440 votes.
